Regular marijuana seeds

Regular marijuana seeds
Content:

The main difference between regular cannabis seeds and regular cannabis seeds is that both male and female flowers develop on regular marijuana plants. And on ordinary plants, only one sexual characteristic can be present. Although this is a natural feature of the cannabis plant, it is an undesirable trait when growing marijuana for consumption, as there is a greater chance of getting a plant full of seeds, which seriously reduces the number and quality of buds.

Hermaphroditism can have 2 origins: genetic and environmental.

Genetically, some strains of marijuana are more susceptible to hermaphroditism than others. This can be explained by the genetic origin of the strain - Thai sativas, for example, usually reach a high percentage of a regular plant - or also by the technique used in seed production.

Despite its genetic sensitivity, the marijuana plant can become regular under the influence of stress. When it feels that flowering conditions are too hard, regularity is an effective and natural way to shorten this period by pollinating its female flowers with pollen from a few male clusters.

Regular Plants

Stress, which greatly increases the risk of hermaphroditism, can have several causes, for example:

  • Changes in photoperiod, especially dark breaks during flowering;
  • Temperature too high (approximately >27°C), environmental conditions not correct;
  • Harvest too late, when a grower misses the deadline for harvesting his plants;
  • Mechanical effects: broken branches, damaged roots, improper pruning during flowering;
  • Problems with watering (lack or excess);
  • Invasion of insects, ticks;
  • Thermal stress (watering plants with cold water);
  • Use of phytotoxic products (pesticides, fungicides).

How to recognize regular cannabis bushes

Regular marijuana seeds can destroy an entire bud crop by releasing pollen. When this happens, females focus their energy on seed production rather than large, resinous buds. Clones of regular cannabis seeds will also have both sexes.

Consequently, it is necessary to remove any hermaphrodite plants from the planting as soon as possible. Some plants show signs of hermaphroditism at an early stage when they are just starting to produce flowers. Plants can form hermaphrodite traits on different branches, or on the same branch, and some hermaphrodites even develop both structures on the same bud site. They are called "true hermaphrodites".

On the other hand, some may become hermaphrodites towards the end of the flowering cycle. This may be the result of the plant trying to make one last attempt to pollinate itself before dying. While many growers become inattentive during the flowering cycle, it's important to check your plants regularly and keep an eye on hermaphroditic blooms during this final stage of life.

Also worth noting, feminized cannabis seeds, like autoflowering cannabis seeds, can have two genders per one plant (but only in 1% of cases).
