Parmesan seeds are offered in both photoperiod feminized and autoflowering feminized varieties. The photoperiod feminized version requires adjustments in lighting to transition into the flowering phase and typically results in larger plants, higher yields, and the ability to be cloned.
With a genotype of 70% indica and 30% sativa, Parmesan is an indica-dominant hybrid with some sativa characteristics. It combines the rapid flowering periods and abundant, THC-rich yields of its indica lineage with hints of sativa traits. Originating from Afghani indica crossed with Mexican and Colombian sativa, Parmesan descended from Skunk #1, which was subsequently crossed with the Cheese clone strain to create Parmesan.
Suitable for cultivation indoors or outdoors, indoor-grown Parmesan plants typically reach medium heights and complete their flowering phase in 8 to 9 weeks, yielding up to 900 grams per square meter depending on space and care provided. Outdoor harvest time falls around mid-October, with each plant producing approximately 600 grams of buds.
The buds of Parmesan boast a high THC content, around 24%, making it a potent strain unsuitable for individuals with low THC tolerance. They also contain a moderate amount of CBD. Parmesan's flavor profile is characterized by intense, musky earthy notes, echoed in its aroma. Its effects include a strong indica body stone accompanied by bursts of mental energy from the sativa lineage, resulting in a unique sensation of relaxation and energy simultaneously.
